I made my first hat in 1990, at a raffia hat making workshop. I then went onto making my own hat with rope and velvet. I trained with a milliner in Melbourne, attended various millinery conventions and workshops, and largely self taught, realised how far I could go with the medium.
I have studied Visual Art and created, exhibited and sold oil paintings, so when twins came along to join my daughter, the next evolution to my creative life was to learn millinery.
All of my hats and headpieces are created by hand, with a passion I cannot stop!
My inspiration comes from vintage fabrics, nature, everyday objects, art, and the classic style of yesteryear when ladies wore hat and gloves at all times.
I stock ready to wear headpieces, and custom make orders for all occasions. Your idea and my expertise, is combined, to create your own unique piece, using the finest sourced materials.
Each piece is created in my workroom and millinery shop in Newcastle, Australia.
My service includes consultation and styling with you, to select the perfect headpiece for you and your outfit, plus I teach you how to correctly wear and attach it.
